am 69 have severe copd live with my wife in small bungalow who is my unpaid carer she works at local supermarket so is classed as vital worker she is 62 and asked could she stay home with pay was told no so we are both at risk is there anything we can do

Just a quick thought. If your wife wasn’t working could you manage financially? Might be worth doing some sums if you haven’t already.

There doesn’t seem to be much specific advice for people in your position. I suppose the answer would be to live as if your wife is infected. Keeping your distance while in the house, separate bedrooms, wife using the bathroom last and copious surface and hand washing. Not easy to do in the long term.

hi chezz thanks since I sent my message after two weeks my wifes superviser from morrisons told my wife to bring in this letter from gov .uk and she has been given 10 wks paid + 2 weeks holidays thanks any way hope this helps others
