Unreliable tips on how to protect oneself from the novel coronavirus and fake news about the COVID-19 pandemic are spreading as quickly as the virus itself.

The Governance Lab (The GovLab) at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering has collaborated with the Federation of American Scientists (FAS) and the State of New Jersey Office of Innovation to launch a free, interactive tool aimed at cutting through the noise and presenting clear, scientist-led, and evidence-based information and advice to the public.

Thank you 2Greys I was thinking of putting up a similar post. Some of stories and advice going round the social media at the moment are beyond belief. Over the years I have been a keen armature historian. During WW2 there was a law that made false reporting and the spreading of rumours concerning defeats or casualty figures a criminal offence. People were actually imprisoned for the offence. Never fully understood that law until now. False news is doing so much damage that I think some aspects of social media should be closed down.

Good morning BB. Yes I can't agree more, the amount of bad advice and rumours are getting bigger than the good essential advice.
