You are one of the lucky ones to be able to work from home, no wonder you are happy about it, being protected :)

Ive been so worried & torn between health & finance as many will be, i had a lot of time off last year due to having 6 exasperation’s & spent many months in hospital & had to use what little savings we had to keep a roof over my head.

That is good news for you. My sister was told by bosses at work that because of health problem they were self isolating her and she could work from home. But her daughter and hubby with 2 little ones have been told they may both lose their jobs

Such worrying times.

Hi Julie14, I am in New Zealand and I have also been told that I can work from home, as well.

I was actually called by the boss because I was considering leaving my job. She suggested that I work from home and saved me a lot of angst.

I am very grateful!

That is so good to hear & i hope other bosses can help others in this sad time. Its awful to think people are worried about finances on top of their health.

Hello Julie14

What sort of work do you do?

I am also in vulnerable list and have had option to work from home but the signal on my wireless has been very poor some of the time.

Do you have children?

I am very concerned about sending my children to nursery as my husband is key worker, but not sure how I can keep them entertained all day if they stay home because I am actually meant to be working!

I would be curious to know if other people are in this same predicament.

I wanted to get someone in a few hours a day to maybe tutor them, read to them etc but then that is another risk.

My husband will have to go back to work in a couple of weeks and I am actually really frightened about him bringing back the virus as it seems to be quite high numbers in London which is where I live.

Take good care 🌈

At least your employers are on the ball and supportive.

It's nice to know that there are some supportive employers. My step daughter, who works for a National company, told me yesterday that her boss wanted one of the staff to come back to working in the office rather than working from home for 12 weeks . He is in the high risk group due to health issues. The boss is self isolating and working from home! She backtracked when the employee said he was going to involve the union.

All bosses need to follow the governments advice, peoples lives are at risk!

That's exactly what I said. Although not everyone is in a job that can be done from home I'm glad you are getting the support you need.
