Fibromyalgia related or respiritory thoughts.

Hi everyone,

Iv being having overall joint pain,right shoulder,right knee,ankles,

Upper Spine pain almost constant progressing more when moving I'd say, burning under collerbone,breast bone, pain near armpits,under rib and at the back of ribs.

What's concerning me is when I try to pass stool I'm feeling more pain now I'm my left hip!?I was wondering if this and any of my symptoms are normal, I have has muscular skeletal team say they would diagnose fibromyalgia but haven't yet as I asked my doctor to refer me to respiritory as all this kind of started after a bad chest infection and then pleurisy around christmas I had lots of phlegm,breathless one doc said airways sounded narrow, did a spirometery breathing test it came back normal, so she did 2 chest x Ray's they were clear, baffled really knee,ankle,spine is just constant now really, I'm having bowel issues doc says ibs have had stool test done and bloods that are ok.

I have fibromyalgia myself , also osteo arthiritus as well as emphasema. It gets confusing when we start having different pains and are unsure which is causing it. My fibro flares up quite alot and it affects my neck and shoulders more than anything though it can also affect other parts. The arthiritus is all over my body, seems to be in every joint that moves to be honest and that pain you describe in your hip while trying to open your bowels is also a pain that i had a few weeks ago while trying to do the same thing ,when my hip was playing me up through my arthiritus . My ribs hurt quite alot and i was told that is because with lung issues , the lungs can expand and cause that discomfort. I dont know how true it is but i would say that it would be best to go and see a doctor for the correct diagnosis . I also had pleurisy years ago and remember the pain that caused ! It made breathing in a deep breath impossible at the time and gave a searing pain right through the chest to the back . Feel better soon.

Thankyou for your reply, I feel my fear is they are diagnosing me with fibromyalgia and it could be lung related and lung cancer, everything started with a chest infection, widespread bone pain has scared me, my knee is always hurting,shoulder not as much now.

I find it all strange chest feels on fire, my x-rays both ok, are they enough to trust? Would the docs be telling me if they wasnt as they know I worrey with my children so young. I'm totally worn out with it all.

The dr would tell you if there was anything at all to be concerned with on the x - rays or on any tests they do on you. They cant hold important info back from a patient. I get pain in my bones from my fibromyalgia or it could be from my arthiritus .. unsure which, my arms sometimes feel quite heavy with it. You could tell your dr what you are worried about and ask for the appropriate test to be done for that.

Thanks for your reply, yes I have explained to docs I feel it's more my chest she did refer me however has said she feels its fibromyalgia and stated my chest x Ray's are fine.

Can I ask have you ever experienced any leg sensations with fibromyalgia? I feel my lower left leg can feel tingly/numb just a little different.

Google fascia and fibromyalgia , that should tell you something concerning it. I have had sciatica in my leg, which is caused through a pinched nerve from the lower back .It runs through the hip , buttock and down the legs . It can cause inflammation, pain and often some numbness in the affected leg . But check with the dr to be sure.
