When to report symptoms

I cough daily okay not regularly but a few times a-day I feel that the guidance is misleading except for high temperature I spoke to a friend who is a health worker and was told if I rung 111 reporting a cough they would instruct me to self isolate. At the moment I'm carrying on as normal but avoiding close contact with people I don't know. Hand washing and sanitizing things like supermarket trolley handles I've done for years. Bit of a grey area for people with COPD.

I think its when the cough is NEW and persistent, with fever and or headache + to phone 111 that's so they don't get all the lung folk ringing in with their every day coughs, or sore throats from sleeping with mouth open :D

The information below is from the link HealthUnlocked have fixed on the page "Protect yourself and others" - " Visit NHS uk "

Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms

Stay at home for 7 days if you have either:

a high temperature

a new, continuous cough

Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home.

Read the entire page here: nhs.uk/conditions/coronavir...

Stay well Mike and all.

If you have to call 111 it would perhaps be helpful to tell them your condition first if you haven’t done so. Naturally enough they are very one track minded at present. I hope you keep well xx
