I went to the nhs walk in with a sore chest and I was prescribed doxycyline for a chest infection and now I’m having trouble when I urinate it feels Liek a UTI starting and I’m so stressed already without the added symptoms...

Drink plenty of water and try to get some optibac probiotic for women from health food store or Boots chemist.

I have had similar problems every time I was on Doxycycline, it got worse each time, ended up with blisters around that area. I have had to stop taking it and now I take Clarithromycin

Hiya Clo_xo- . I’ve had doxycycline a few times in the past & Bkin is so right about drinking plenty of water & probiotics. I have COPD but at the time took them for pleurisy. They did work but harm your body as all antibiotics do. I too just had had a water infection so bad that I couldn’t wee for days. I had an allergic reaction to Trimethoprim, I couldn’t stand, talk & felt so unwell. I’m now scared to take any other then amoxicillin. Sending you health & hugs love K4ttt 💓

I’ll try and keep myself well hydrated as I know how painful UTIs are myself and it’s no joke and I was told I had pleurisy a few months ago but nothing came up on the xrays and after having chest pains again they think it is a chest infection but everywhere is aching on these antibiotics Liek all my stomach and ribs and I worry about it as I’ve had two lots of antibiotics in a small amount of time for dental infections to now a chest infection so my health is down right now x

Awww Clo just make sure you rest & drink plenty of bottled water preferably not tap water. Also I eat before taking them as make your stomach hurt more I find on an empty stomach . I’ve had pleurisy 3 times from coughing & you will know if you had that as like a constant stabbing pain either front or back of the chest /rib area. Sending you health & hugs love K4ttt 🤗

I keep having heart burn and acid reflux too and I’m in constant anxiety over myself with all the other pains and my stomach pains and I keep reading about gastroparesis and the symptoms and my whole thought process is worried and stressed I’m 19 and I want to start being healthier and start settling down and eventually start to build relationships with my family and boyfriend more but I’m so afraid that I’m getting badly ill and that it won’t be possible for me to do anything Like that through my anxieties 😩 x
