Scientists at EPFL in Switzerland have shown that you are more likely to initiate a voluntary decision as you exhale. Published in today's issue of Nature Communications, these findings propose a new angle on an almost 60-year-old neuroscientific debate about free will and the involvement of the human brain.

This is an astonishing finding 2greys concerning free will and biological determinism. The Readiness Potential is definitely in conflict with the notion of free will, which I have always doubted as a viable entity. Thanks for alerting me to this experiment. it raises so many questions about breathing and involuntary actions, which appear to be instances of the working of free will but are exploded in this experiment.
That's a lot to think about. I only read the article quickly so should probably read it again properly later.
