LVR

My partner went for an appointment yesterday with his Consultant who suggested putting him for an LVR (Lung Volune Reduction) op. Has anyone had this op or know of anyone who has had it and did it improve things for them?

Oh wow, hope it goes well for you Will57. Did you have to wait long for the op?

Hello Wills, I hope by now you are feeling a lot better? My consultant has mentioned to me that she MIGHT refer me for the LVR op. apparently you have to have 170% of lung capacity, and mine yesterday was only 130. Have you felt a lot better since your op.? would love to hear how you got on. Thank you, Woofly

I would recommend that you take advantage of this opportunity however I did underestimate my recovery which took a while. I actually got out of hospital on Tuesday after 3 days of having pneumonia and fought it off very well. Go for it

Hi Will57, so glad you’re out of hospital and on the road to recovery. Do you think that the fact you had the LVR meant you were able to fight the pneumonia better? Either way I’m glad you’re feeling better.

My OH came out of hospital on Monday after having his LVR on 15 September.

I was starting to feel really well but as soon as the symptoms started I got my wife to phone the ambulance and the consultants said by doing so it enable the virus to be treated at the earliest but I do think the op has made me stronger but please remember to tell your OH to take rest
