Yes I've got a persisting chest infection on 2nd lot of steroids and antibiotics and it keeps flaring up the minute I finish a course going back to Dr again tomorrow......this is really getting me down now. I keep telling myself it will pass I will get through it π. Xxxx
I had that from jun to September. Eventually realised it was withdrawal from steroids symptoms . My sputum samples showed no infections, but was tight chesty, mucus heavy, very breathless, walking went to a few steps. Iβm now on a long withdrawal programme. Iβd stop steroids and about 5days later, as bad as ever. What do your sputum samples show?. If this is only your second set of the steroids and antibiotics, it could well be a persistent infection.
I've not had my sputum tested was going to take a sample with me today to the Dr but I've not coughed up one little bit since I got up this morning....typical. Off to see the Dr now xxx
At least we know we are not alone when feeling rough. There is always someone with worse troubles and someone to cheer us up. An old saying "if wishes were horses, beggars would ride" maybe true, but I do wish you well Don, we need you!! Love Iris x
Thank you Iris. Somehow being told that there's someone worse off than me doesn't help a great deal. Reminds me of my mother going on about little black babies when I wouldn't eat all my porridge. ππx
Know what you mean Don. Sometimes annoys me when Iβm told thereβs someone worse off than me- I donβt care I feel dreadful & need hugs sympathy & some drugs that actually work!!!
Beginning to think I should hit the brandy and blow the kit if it, one infection after another & mi progress. Who fancies a virtual pub crawl??
Don, sending best wishes for some improvement. Sometimes it is difficult to remain positive and buoyant isn't it. But a new year and improved health is just round the corner.
I find I think Iβve got treatment to control things, when suddenly my body changes direction and tablets donβt work any more. Itβs think time, and try different things. Can you get outside at the moment. Iβve found the 20 min a day outside seems to make me feel better psychologically.. I used to walk but at the moment, a lot of it is stand and take rest. My bodyβs peculiar in that it likes the cold air, it loosens phlegm. If the car heater goes on, I start coughing big time. I hope you find something that works for you.
We all love your poems so please keep them going. Lots of love and hugs
That is so true, if you get yourself out just for a short time it helps. I really must drag myself into my campervan with my motley crew and put myself around a bit. Thank you. xx
