Shortened days.

The nights they all be drawing in

The days between them getting thin

I've hardly got my jim-jams off

And had my early morning cough

Before it's looking like it's time

To put 'em back when I've done my rhyme.

Sunrise now is after 9 and sunset just after 3. It feels like a lot of nighttime!

How sad to always have your birthday on one of the shortest days of the year HH. I hope it lasts long enough for you to have a great time! MANY HAPPY RETURNS. 🎈🧨🎉🍨🍰🍷

Thank you Don 😊 I used to be more upset about the proximity to Christmas, most often getting a combined gift, or a Christmas card with a "PS Happy Birthday" Of course now I wouldn't be so small minded or childish as to still be bothered by such things 🙄

It will soon be the shortest day of the year

Will we celebrate Don and have a beer

Midge and Scruff's will soon stop yawning

As they realise the days are warming

Before you know it the spring will be here

And we celebrate again with another beer.

Any excuse for a pint Ski's and a sober cat x

I have a SAD Lamp, it seems to help a little, of course might be all in my mind, but who cares, if it works. I used to hate the days, going to work and coming home in the dark.

I do think they make a difference SH - especially if I can remember where I stored it away - :-)

Mine's in the loft; until I saw the post had forgotten I had one - I think that says it all, for me at least.

I will try to retrieve it as as it did help last year . . . ;-)

Good afternoon Mr.D and i totally agree. These dark mornings and dark afternoons make everything seem a little "down in the dumps". However as skischool says, we will soon see the change over to lighter, brighter mornings and evenings that dont begin at 4pm!!

I wanted to ask you on a seperate note, how you feel about Christmas? Do you have flashing lights all over the front of your house with a snowman in your garden and a Father Christmas, trying to get through your chimney? I reserve the right not to say if you do or you don't but I'm feeling quite certain on my choice😂😂🐿💕

in reply toSquirrelsHolt

I somehow missed answering your question here SH asking how I felt about Christmas. Well to be honest if I could wipe it from the calendar I would do so. My cleaning lady commented that there was not the slightest hint that it was Christmas either inside or outside my house.

Well Don, straight back in my pj's after having my stitches out this morning. Been awake since 4.30 so siesta maybe in order . I put it all down to the dark mornings/evenings and weather. Roll on spring x

You could leave them on all day and save the trouble of changing. I’ve done this on odd occasions . Also bought some loungewear ( pyjamas really but look a bit like sweatshirt and trackie bottoms) . Even been out with these on. I wear ugg boots as slippers and often go out in them too! No one has commented so think I’ve got away with it .

Take care, Don

Cap'n - I just had to rush back in here to put up some further news about my son's recent musical party/event in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Support Charity he did a couple weeks or so ago - he found out today from them that that he had actually raised £1758. 77 and not the £1500 I thought - apparently that is enough to fund a Macmillan Nurse for a week and a half! Again just an incredibly proud mum - good night to all xx
