Good morning Mr.D and you've composed a great rhyme there - something which the vast majority of members here will surely agree?
Our Council,I think like yours, is a fortnight collection of household waste and then the plastics, cans and bottles are collected on the alternative week! (Have I bored you to point of near death yet?) Then the paper and cardboard are done fortnightly with the plastics, cans etc. I mean, it's on the brink of lunacy if you ask me.
So ........a cuppa is now due,to calm my nerves. The mere mention of rubbish collection puts my mind into a place I don't need to go to ever again ..... But that's a story for another day lol !!! ๐๐
In my part of the world we have to use Purple bags for this chore Don. YOUVE drawn attention to the problems of every day living though. Regards, Chrys
Like it . Better than ever. I forgot my bin until i saw the others out next morning . The next one is 3 or 4 weeks away due to Christmas. No collection next week then christmas and ลบ then new yeareve too so next bin day 7 jan. So had to go out with bin to front gate in dressing gown there and then. Old woman in dressing gown wandering around in all the school traffic
Oh the shame of it !
That's good, gave me a laugh. ๐ Midge's pooh is only part of it. Her tins are another problem. She eats tinned dog food so that means a lot of empty tins. I'm supposed to wash them, take the labels off (and perhaps give them a bit of a polish?) before binning them. Then there's the Wiltshire Farm Food trays, there seem to be a dispute over whether they go with the plastic or the rubbish. No doubt the Universities now offer degree courses on this subject Media & Rubbish. Come to think of it they could merge those.
My job before I retired was a sheltered housing warden. They moved an elderly man in to my flats who had actually featured in a TV programme on extreme hoarding. I was supposed to keep an eye on him. He just stacked his ready meal trays etc on the windowsill.!!!
Not having a pet, I must ask which bin this goes in? Its not garden waste/paper or tins, bottles so presume it goes into the grey free for all bin, which doesnt seem right either, think we should have another bin just for this ha!
Well itโs all individually wrapped in perfumed black plastic bags. I could send Midge round to pooh in my neighbours gardens like a lot of cat owners do, but that doesnโt seem right either. The grey bin it has to be. ๐
Tameside council state that 'dog waste' has to go in our green general waste bin, there is no mention of 'cat waste' perhaps they believe they purr but do not poo but they get that as a bonus from Scruffy if it hasn't already been buried in the garden. xx
I dont think either dog or cat poo should be in compost as Im sure I have read somewhere it contains things that humans shouldnt have in their bodies, mind you I think the same of any animal waste, cant stand the thought my veggies have been grown in this. I would vote for a nice pink /purple bin to take care of this not so nice waste.
Hope you are feeling better my friend and managing to get something down now x
This had me curious so looked this up and it says all pet waste should go in the grey bin and not the recycling bins, would question Tameside on this, we dont want them coming for scruffs x
No definitely the green non recycling general waste bin though it does show the poo as being in a bag, obviously non recyclable plastic one, garden waste in the brown bin, paper in the blue and bottles and cans in the black which as you can image is well used by your alcoholic friend. xx
Ah! That is where the confusion lies, we have a green bin that is purely for recycable waste and grey for non recycables. Why they cant have the same colour for every area beats me x
We have a green for garden waste for composting. A brown one for tins, cardboard and certain types of plastic. A grey bin fo very thing else. At least the colours roughly match the intended contents. ๐ค
Pew or Phew, Exhausted reading about all these Bins. Mine are easy, Cos, Hubby does them all & he has our House Number on each with Florescent Pink Sticker Just to confuse the Bin Men. xxxx
