Hello I'm new here, My name Lynne, I would like to raise an APPEAL, regarding my late father Joseph Wright, who lived and worked in Liverpool and sadly passed away in 2017. after suffering from asbestosis, my father worked for Liverpool Corporation (Council), between 1963 /1964, 1965-1968, 1969/1970 and 1972/1973.
It's believed my father, may have FIRST been exposed to asbestosis, while working for British Rail, between 1961 - 1963, 1964 - 1965.
subsequently my father worked for Norwest Construction Co Ltd, between 1970 - 1972, then after this worked for, Unit Construction between 1967-1969, 1970/71 and 1973/74
My father also worked for Lockwoods (Construction) Ltd between 1974 and 1975
It's believed my father may have come into contact with and worked in close proximity to the dangerous material asbestosis during his employment with the above companies
It's thought my father may have been exposed to asbestosis during his working career, we would like to launch our appeal, to try an trace former colleagues of Mr wright, in the hope, they can provide further information about the work our father undertook.
We are keen to hear from any former colleagues, from any of the above companies, about the work our father carried out and work condition in which he worked
Please contact me, if anyone out there can HELP us!

Hi, Fincham. I don't know Mr Wright or the companies you mention, but thought you might like to hear about local experiences of the Crewe Works I heard about since I moved to south Cheshire in 2001.
Most people in Crewe worked in the railway works or in Rolls Royce. In the railway works, there were mounds of uncontained white asbestos which the apprentices would play with at break times, throwing asbestos snowballs. Crewe Grosvenor ward now has a very high incidence of asbestos related lung disease. Lung disease is taken very seriously here these days.
Hi Ergendi, Thank you for your reply, im from Liverpool
My father worked for british railways, did the railway works have some connection to the british railway , my father had worked for the both railways in Liverpool, Lime street station, an central station, my father had been suffering for decades with his chest, and was let down by the health professionals for decades, and was given diagnose a few months before he died, too little too late!
I had contacted the british lung foundation, regarding my witness appeal , but I had in the past attended lung foundation groups, to meet people who may have had the same lung disease as my father, which was idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, but no one at the groups had my father lung disease.
I would like to speak to anyone who has got a lung disease, of the type my father had,
My husband says Crewe Works was part of British Rail Engineering Ltd (BREL). His father was awarded compensation for deafness caused during the course of his work as a welder there, in 1978. There must be official reports filed with the government about the incidence of different diseases compensated for in this public owned company. Good luck with your research.
Hello just read your post as i am fairly new, to this site, i too have been said to have idiopathic lung fibrosis, found in oct 2016,i do believe its a cover for several unknow causes of scarring in the lung, bu without actually taking biopsy they dont know what, so if its say, asbestosis you dont know so you can't claim any compansation, how convenient is that. They said mine was from birds, hay, mould, or pollution, all i know is i moved from the east coast where i lived for 30 odd years, to the midlands, council bunalow, in 2013, near to a main rd to the M1i was very healthy volentering in a finture warehouse , swimming, running up old john, within 4 years my health was in taters, and i believe it is due to polution from transport and planes, they, said id, had, it for years, well why didnt they tell me.
I moved to the north east coast and the, hospitals have really looked after me. They, inform me of any changes and provide me with,, oxygen now. So if ou want to chat about it let me know.
