Evasive consultant re my diagnosis of copd

Hello all, as some of you already know after a stay in hospital with pneumonia and a lung abscess I was given a shock diagnosis during an admission via A and E.

Whilst confirming my details the doctor stated "I see you have copd" that's how I found out.

since then I have been back to the hospital for an echocardiogram but they couldn't see my heart because of obstruction by my damaged lungs,

this week I have had a spirometry test, the result of which I am waiting for.

The doctor at the hospital was evasive when I enquired about the copd and quickly turned to refer me for treatment for another issue.

so now I have to wait until the middle of November for a formal diagnosis , which would be fine but I am subject to meeting requirements for universal credit.

they are aware of the issue with my health and I have submitted a fitnote but I know they are going to call me in for a medical soon ?? if anyone else has had a similar challenge to overcome could you please tell me how will this work with copd ?

Why is he being so evasive ? I hope it's a case of misdiagnosis

All my doctors & hospital nurses & doctors have/were evasive about copd. I had to confront them verbally, somewhat frustrated with anger and was blatantly time wasting!

I had it out with them, I was going to go to my MP, medical council or media! I was going to do it the old fashioned way & sit outside the tvnz studio with a huge placard. If I didn't get more constructive feedback.

Boy, things moved! But, I am in the position now, to understand more of their side now & am a lot more patient.
