Be prepared.

Winter approaches and we folk with dodgy chests need warm houses. So don't forget to get your central heating check before the plumbers get too busy at the first cold snap. I wrote this a couple of years ago when I had a bit of trouble.

Good advice Don, shame my housing dont take this on board, mine was done in May and I usually have a problem when it is cold as it has been off all summer, fingers crossed for this year.

Love the cartoon of Midge, she looks good as a plumber lol x

Thank you for the reminder Don. I will telephone my mum. xx 😊👋

Which part of the country does your mum live, Cas? Here in NW England my poor old heating system doesn’t know whether it’s coming or going. Quite warm one day, cold the next. 🤔

Mum is in the South East Hythe sea. 😊

It’s always a bit warmer down there. 😎x

She's right by the sea 🌊🌊🌊😱

It’s the best place to be as long as it isn’t trying to get in your front door. 😀xx

My heating the same but i am lucky that mine heats instantly as it is hot air and controlled by thermostat. Trouble is thermostat is in north-facing room and main sitting room is South- facing so i go from room to room playing the vents to balance out. Sun shines and i throw windows open to survive! I love it though. I also have winter duvet and summer duvet. Changed over three weeks ago ( when it was cold here in NW )and have had problems ever since !

in reply toJaybird19

That's not very eco-friendly, but my system is not either. The boiler is quite new but the rest is ancient. It has micro-bore pipes which easily silt-up. I removed the thermostats on the radiators to increase the flow through them. People visiting during the winter (who fortunately are very few) fling the windows open to survive which I find chilly siting there in my polo shirt and shorts! 😄

Thanks for the reminder, Don! Much appreciated. xx Moy

You’re welcome Moy. Be prepared and all that, though I was never in the Boy Scouts. In fact I was in the ‘Lifeboys’, you don’t hear of those anymore, I expect they got washed away. 😉
