My late mother in law lived just outside Cape Town.....I visited there just the once , when the Union Castle line was still sailing . I still have a photo.

I also have a photograph of the cable car ride up to Table Mountain to see the flora there.

I planted blue agapanthus and red hot pokers, kniphofia, in my garden in memory . I also have pansies like yours, and one dried protea .

Thanks for sharing, and reviving memories .

Hi Boeta.

I am an adopted South African having been born and raised in Wales but fell in love with the country and lived there for over 30 years. I am lucky enough to go back most years as my youngest lives in C.T. with my grandchildren.

I tell people my head is in the UK but my heart will always be in S.A.

Great to hear from you

Best wishes

Yep....so much want see the England of my forebears, but my lungs do not allow this....oh how I love S.A. ....to learn from different cultures, while being kept apart during the APARTHEID years is quite exciting....the only experience I had of Wales .... watching the series STELLA on tv....had a good laugh and what a beautiful place!
