Hectic day

Hello everyone. Well had an eventful day today. Went to gp today to get referral to copd clinic. While there asked him to check my b.p. cause i been having problems getting a reading. 3 machines later he had a reading of 28 for my pulse. He could not believe i looked so well. Said i should be keeled over. So now in Hospitall awaiting my pacemaker urgently

Yes already got 2 readings of 30 at home. But was not reading my b/p at all most the time. But the machine worked for my wife ok. Thanks for your concern everyone. Love the group and support

Thank you dedalus. Pulse is 27 now in hospital. Calling me bionic. They cant understand i am walking about as normal

Cheersjudg69. Had an appointment for me pacemaker for 19th of September. But my pulse was 40 when i seen the cardiologist. But knew something was not right. Cause could not get a reading at all on my blood pressure monitor

Thank you. I am awake at 4 o clock. After the nurse came to check i was ok because my pulse dropped to 21. When i am asleep.They can t believe it

It's so fortunate this got spotted in time. I'm glad to know it's all going to be sorted out. Hopefully your pacemaker will be done under local anesthesia and you'll be able to go on your holiday. Wishing you all the best.

Thanks Hungryhufflepuff. Lol just love that title you have. Yes as i just mentioned. Come to check i was still alive cause my pulse drops even lower while asleep. Amazing what they find out. I have been cold in the night 2 x 2 hr sleeps i have had. Brought me another blanket now. Thanks again. Have a good day

When my dad had a pacemaker fitted his heart rate could be incredibly low (though I think you beat all records there) or incredibly high. Once the heart rate was sorted out he was less breathless and less cold too. He was offered the choice of whether to have the pacemaker on the left or right side, I don't know if you'll get that choice but worth thinking about? My dad was so surprised by the question that he didn't know what to say. He said whatever is most common or easier for the surgeon.

Yes Hungryhufflepuff. Was asked if was left or right handed. So being right handed. Had it on the left. Went for heart scan at 15.30. Then took straight in for pacemaker fitting. 2 hrs it took in total. Have a good weekend

Oh I’m sorry to hear this I hope you’re operation goes well, and it really is a good job you saw your GP and got him to check your blood pressure. Hope you manage to get away on your wee break but do take it easy, good luck and I hope to hear everything went well when you nxt post best wishes 🌹🌹

Thank you so much Shazrab. U must be old school like me. Using capital for a name lol i am 63. Was taught English the proper way. Not like they use it today. Thanks for your nice wishes. Once i get this pacemaker. Hopefully will help with my breathlessness. Then get on and fight this copd too. Thanks again

Good morning Happyjo, sad to see you up so early. Yes have read about all the dos and not dos. I was woken at 4. By a nurse to make sure i was ok. Because while i have been asleep. Sorted this afternoon. Roysieboy. Thought i was only having a heart scan to see how well my heart was working. But took me straight into theatre and done it in 90 mins..Thanks very much. Have a good weekend

Yes hope i get this pacemaker fitted to enjoy a break . Only booked the break last week. After getting 19th of September for the pacemaker. Until it all went pearshaped yesterday. Thanks again have a good day. BRIAN

Yes the staff are amazing...its just down to government cuts that spoils the system. Yes, been to work this morning, took dog for 3 mile walk now sitting in garden enjoying the sun with a vino....happy days xx
