Ive no idea really. Isn’t Canada as good a place as any? I suppose it depends whether you live in a city or the countryside. Xx

I don't think it would be possible to say that but I would think not in a big city or town but maybe in the countryside or seaside where the air is fresher. x

That is an interesting question I’ve often wondered about. I felt brilliant in Namibia...dry salt air. Also, I feel good in warm Med climates by the sea, so that’s summer. We are wondering where to go in the winter...the Canaries might be OK but they sometimes have sandstorms, I’ve been told Arizona in the USA is great...dry warm air again, but the problem there is the cost of travel insurance to the States and the long flight from the UK. I do think you need to avoid cold, damp and polluted places.

My husband is now severe and can’t really travel anywhere, but 20 years ago when he wasn’t so bad he used to go to Palm Springs for a couple of months each winter. It started when we visited friends in California and he found he was so much better there that he made the case to go each year! I would be here in the UK in February with the children and he would send photos from the poolside in 100F. I did make a lot of difference and he got through those winters far better. Interestingly, now he is far worse, he finds he can’t cope with the hot weather, but that may be that here where we live by the sea, it is not the hot dry air of the southern Californian desert.

Here is something I found on the WEB. If you have COPD and are thinking about moving, you might want to consider an area with...

· A mild, temperate climate

· Low levels of pollen and other airborne allergens

· Low levels of air pollution

· Close to sea level

· Easy access to health care

Hi,

I felt so much better in Nice, France. We went early autumn so it was around 20 celcius. lots of salty air since its near sea. Lovely!

North Wales. Fresh prevailing south west winds mainly from the Atlantic and Irish Sea make places like Llandudno minimally air polluted.

I felt bad living in Suffolk close to agricultural land. So much better after having moved recently to Wolverhampton when I expected to be a lot worse. You never can tell. Xxx

The other day on the radio I heard someone saying you should always choose to live somewhere that there are more sheep than people. I don’t think that’s necessarily for lung health though!

The best place that I’ve found is northern Norway. There’s sea air, mountain air and pine forests all in one place 🏔🌲⛰
