Some doctors have little knowledge of COPD and often the surgery has a specialist COPD nurse whose knowledge is greater. Consultants, those with knowledge concerning COPD, are useful as they overule a doctor. I have regularly taken Azithromycin, an antibiotic, 3x a week. Occasionally a new doctor tries to take me off them, which then quickly leads me to having an infection. I either change doctors, within the practice or change practices or invoke the consultant. It is no good if you have lost faith in your doctor. It is your health and your body. Get another opinion would be a way to go.
