So my CT results for my abdominal issues aren’t back yet (which is fair, just frustrating because I’ve been waiting so damned long and struggling with my abdominal issues and now I just want to know) but I travelled a total of 5 hours in the horrible heat on public transport to get to and from my lung consultant today, only to basically be told that my lung bases are clear and he wants to redo my laryngeoscopy (last one showed nothing) just in case but aside from that he’s not sure what else we can do: my abdo issue may well be making me short of breath but he could see the CT scan but not comment on it below the lungs (totally fair enough because that’s not his area of expertise) so couldn’t do anything and just to make sure my GP sends off sputum samples every time I have a chest infection. He did listen to my chest and confirm the reduced air entry in my right lower lobe which everyone else has been picking up over the past few months and I’m feeling a tad deflated — stupid as that sounds — and embarrassed because I was thinking that the CT scan was going to shed light on that and kind of ‘validate’ my breathing struggles recently and we could get to work on improving things..but no. I apologise to anyone reading this in frustration because they’re on O2 or the transplant list or whatever and I’m feeling down about clear lung bases on a CT! It’s not because I want to have something, I just was hoping for an answer: I feel crackliness in that area intermittently and my chest aches and feels tight and stuffy and I guess I was hoping the CT would reveal a mucus plug or something and that could be dealt with.
*sigh* sorry for my venting. I hope nobody is upset about this, like I say it’s not me wanting something wrong, it’s just wanting an explanation as to why I’m not breathing easy as it were!
