I looked at your profile and saw that you are recently diagnosed. I understand that it is difficult to know what to do to help oneself at times. I still have that dilemma some days!
Have you got a salbutamol inhaler and is it easing the breathlessness?
On 'bad' days, I often use the salbutamol every 2 to 4 hours until my breathing settles down. My 'yardstick' for starting prednisolone is when the salbutamol has little or no effect and I am still breathless when sitting doing nothing.
I hope that this is of some help to you. Best wishes.
Sounds like you made the right decision to start the prednisolone and also that you have an efficient GP. I wasn't given a rescue pack for over 2 years after diagnosis.
I am sorry that you have had a poor day and I hope that you soon begin to feel better.
Hi @Vee70 and I'm just wondering if you may have the
beginning's of a chest infection and maybe to ask you if you were given "rescue antibiotics" for times like these? Its a difficult one when you're just diagnosed, but generally for me,and I'm not a doctor or a nurse, if I'm breathless,I can also hear my chest making sounds but not necessarily coughing much sputum up. I then start my rescue AB's and still see the doctor on Monday.
Do let us know how you are getting along. Best wishes.
