What a great idea. My birthday is 10 days before Christmas so I always feel very hard done by, having to wait all the year around for a gift that becomes one combined birthday / Christmas gift, and all the cakes come along at once. Iβve long felt that I should have an official birthday some time in the middle of the year. No one else buys into this idea though. Until now! I will show everyone your ode as proof of it being a great idea. The day might need to be renamed though π³
Changing the name would remove the purpose of the celebration HH. I donβt understand the problem, birth is a bit of a messy business should we change the name of that? π§π
My aunt told me it was in September when my parents stayed in Guernsey. My partner and I visited the places they had gone to, and during the stay he proposed to me. So Guernsey has a very special place in my heart.
As A child I also had two Birthdays, Mine the 18th, and Christmas day when I got the Combined Present. The addition on Christmas day was Mum's Nylon Stocking with Fruit and Nuts in it. xxx
Lovely! I think to save embarrassment the day should taken as exactly 9 months prior to ones birthday. π
Master Po,having been created rather than conceived i may miss out on this one or maybe i was just an accident waiting to happen? whatever i think my dad probably remembered it as a day to forget or judgement day. x
i am convinced my brother was the first recipient of stem cell treatment in that they took all my good ones and gave them to him.So as the runt of the litter my fate was already decided x
Sorry you've had a poisonous day majji,i hope you have a quick cycle of recovery and will feel better soon,i still have some of my parents ashes so maybe like tea leaves i should swirl them around and consult the oracle as they say to discover my creation day.
bit of Ski's flippancy to brighten your miserable day x
Lol SirSki - I now have another opportunity to type SNAP `a la the children's card game as I too have my mother's - apparently you need an application form to have them accompany you on the last journey - is that not carrying officialdom just a little too far?
About 15 yrs ago on a skiing holiday in Colorado,in a moment of what can only be called madness i took some of my dads ashes to the top of the mountain,at 11,000 ft on what i believed to be a deserted plateau in an area of outstanding beauty i released them only to see them ingested by the only other foolish skier on the mountain that day,as you can imagine he was not impressed but i am sure dad was laughing his whatsits off. x
That seems to me to be a typical SirSki moment frozen in time for ever lol - I am sure that your father would have appreciated every second of the extremely eventful journey
I am off to bed now - CT results not too bad - more chemo to follow
