Hello micky. I have lifelong bronch and dilated cardiomyopathy. I have done 30 cruises by myself, 2 of them world cruises. I do lots of tours from the ship, being careful to choose them to my capabilities and last year fulfilled a lifelong dream to vist Petra. Down quite eadily and back 10 steps at a time. I find cruises better than land holidays because you have your cabin as a base and the 'family' of the crew and passengers.
Make sure that you get good insurance, take all of your meds with you, take the usual precautions against the virus spreaders and you should be fine.
I would suggest getting an outside or balcony cabin as being shut in an inside one may make you breathless. Whatever you choose have a great time.

Thank you do you use a mobility scooter as I cannot walk far or quickly, any recommendations on what cruise companies, what about medication for long trips.
Most cruise companies are very good with mobility scooters, particularly P&O and Cunard. I think that Saga and Fred Olsen will probably be too. I get my surgery to give me 2 months supply of drugs when I am going away and when I went for four months we found a way to have 2 months at a time, several times. The maximum they are allowed to give out at a time is 2 months but you can get round that with careful planning.

I was very impressed with the way the Fred Olsen staff looked after people using wheelchairs, mobility scooters and walking frames when we went on the fjords cruise last year.
