Hi Moolies, maybe check with the nurses on blf Helpline.
From what I know of this situation, it could be your recent mucus production is a result of more recent lung damage, perhaps you have the chronic bronchitis as well as the emphysema components of COPD. Perhaps you have developed some bronchiectasis, I am only guessing as mucus production connects with these things.
Drinking lots of water, and perhaps asking for a prescription of carbocisteine (mucolyctic capsules) to help keep the mucus thin and more easily coughed up.

Keep an eye on the colour of your mucus, if it changes colour to yellowy green this is a sign of infection and you need to take a sample of the morning sputum to your doctor for testing. Ask your surgery for sterile pot /s to keep at home so you have them to hand and then docs will be able to determine what bacteria and what anti biotic is required.
Do call the Helpline to get their take on your current situation and see what they would advise you to do.
Thanks for your help
Thanks for advice I get so worried I have a busy life and my x husband is dying my children need me to be well I feel like Iโm under so much pressure to look like nothing is wrong with me๐ข
I'm sorry you have to feel like you have to live a charade when you really aren't well yourself Moolies . Are you children grown? I think we are our own worst enemy sometimes trying to protect the feelings of others by downplaying our own illness. I'm sorry I don't have much advice about your condition, but I would say if your current doctor is unable to offer anything beyond "What shall we do? " perhaps you need a second opinion. Bkin has given some terrific advice. Take care of yourself.
