The road along the Dovey River Estuary must have some of the most magnificent views anywhere. I had a job keeping my eyes on the road. The market was closing down by the time we got there which is when the bargains are usually to be found but not in Machynlleth. I thought I was in Yorkshire for a minute π. I bought a chunk of carrot cake for my tea Β£2.50, it was quite a big piece. Headed back for Barmouth through the mountain pass. My camper has a 2.3 turbo Diesel engine which is quite big for a little vehicle so she loves the mountains. Sandwiches on Barmouth prom for tea.

Aberdovey to Machynlleth.
I am enjoying this trip almost as much as Midge,Sally and Dolly, enjoy that rather expensive carrot cake though i thought you would be eating Welsh cakes which are really rather nice.
Ski's and Scruff's eating tuna cake x
The Dovey river estuary to Machynlleth and back to Barmouth - you are certainly motoring along. Sounds like a great trip. Sleep well.
Iβm in training for Devon and Cornwall π

A musical tour of North Wales.
You tube here I come .
Where are you off to next, Don? Cwm Rhondda ...thatβs a bit far South though.
I head for home tomorrow. This was just a trial run to see if could still βcut itβ in my dotage. Seems I still can with a few adjustments. π
You can still cut the mustard cap'n
"Cutting the mustard" IMO(get the new street cred) the man in my opinion is a pioneer or maybe that's a pie and ear. xx
Ski's merely a disciple in awe.
Away with you both, this place is full of βem, heroβs by the hundred if not thousand, you two included. π
I am sure you are right Cap'n but do they bring the smiles, the pleasure and enjoyment (sometimes the tears) that you bring almost daily to this wonderful site?
The first recorded use of the phrase was attributed to O. Henry in 1907 SirSki - you are of course correct in your use of pioneer and awe - not so sure about your merely
Bugger she's out of the shadows and biting, you are not supposed to be feeding at this time of the day. xx
A soldier who passes inspection is said to βpass muster.β We use this phrase for all kinds of things and processes that must be approved, meet a certain standard. ... the expression is definitely not βpass the mustard". 'Cutting' the muster is being clever or crafty enough to avoid the muster (avoid being inspected).
Stunning views Don and what about that sky! Fantastic. Enjoy that cake. Xxx π
The weather started badly but gradually improved until now a brilliant sunset is preparing itself.ππ (The cake was yummy so itβs sure to be unhealthy) π
I too am enjoying your trip and photos. Thank you. I am tracking the places on GoogleEarth? If you are intending going up (and down) Snowdon by train you will need to book beforehand, but it does say on their website "Only registered support dogs are allowed on our trains." My son and daughter-in-law just turned up last year to buy tickets but all the seats were already sold. Have a good day tomorrow.
I must go home tomorrow. Iβll be taking the coast road Llandudno Rhyl and the new Merseyside Gateway Bridge.
Thank you Don. I have looked at tomorrow's journey on GoogleEarth, and will be thinking of you tomorrow. Have a pleasant drive.

I thought it didn't look it's usual happy self, of course the sun was shining by the time I got there. I was pleased to see that the big second-hand book shop was still there on the right hand side going out of town. I've spent many hours in there over the years.π
