I told to stop drinking caffeinated drinks and eating chocolate, both a big ask for me, so no more chocolate in the house and decaf tea bags next time I go shopping....

Breathing and smoking.
Thats harsh hope alcohol is not on the banned list.
There is no reason not to drink Tea or Coffee - in fact it helps slightly in opening up the airways. If I don't take my inhaler immediately on waking, my breathing still feels slightly better after that first cup of coffee (admittedly I do like a strong cuppa )
I was once advised to give up all caffeinated drinks as they made me 'edgy' but I just cut down on them and have been fine. Do you have an allergy? And what is the link to the smoking you mention in the headline to the post?
Afternoon.
Give up the fags I get that, avoid toxic substances and people with colds coughs etc see where your coming from, fill your body full of medicine every day still with you. But give up tea that's a step to far, not in a million years.

You mention in a previous post about panic attacks. This may be why you doctor has advised to cut caffeine which tends to raise the heart rate in some people.
I cut out coffee but to do without " Yorkshire Tea " would be a step too far. De -caf tea bags just don't cut it.
I am so sorry to read that, tea and chocolate are my two favourite things in the world!
I want to wish you all the best of luck with this

Was told at my P.R course drinking tea an d coffee is ok for people who have c.o.p.d.
Please ignore the "reply" from robison1234. Judging from all the wrong spellings (even his own name), this is SPAM. The biggest give away is that the UK number is a mobile number. No legitimate organisation would operate without a traceable landline.
