Partial collapsed lung

I have been told that my left lung is collapsed in middle , they can’t do any further investigation as it’s too dangerous so I’m being sent for physio therapy in the hope that it’s a mucus blockage .. if this doesn’t get better will I still be able to fly? My fev 1 is 22% no oxygen needed

Oh wow. I'm sorry to hear this Amanda. To be honest I think this is a question for your doctor. If your lung is partially collapsed I'd imagine it is in a delicate and extremely fragile condition. I would definitely get confirmation for the doctor treating you. I don't think any of us here can tell you for certain that you are fit to fly. Take good care. xx 🌼🌱

I agree with Caspiana. You really need to seek medical opinion about being able to fly. I hope that the physio helps you.

Amanda, never say never,i have only 22% lung function but have a fit to fly certificate, your consultant will just wan't to check out your lung has re-inflated which could happen within a week or two of it's own accord.

Aww hope so fingers crossed was told no meds to try release the phlegm but I thought there was meds to help loosen this xx

Unfortunately i can't advise on that issue as with my 'dry' emphysema i am lucky not to produce much mucus but the lungs by nature will want to reoccupy their original space. x

This is the reason I can't Fly, I have FEV1 26% or less, On Oxygen. My Consultant wasn't Happy she mentioned a possible pneumothorax happening if I fly. She said the Insurance Company may not insure me for the Flight, She wouldn't give me a "Fit to Fly" certificate. Best to make sure. xx

Sorry to interrupt your conversation with Amanda Carino, but if you are having the bling jiggled with you will have to do the 3 day stint again regardless if it's only a reinsert so you better warn hubby to get in the ready meals lol. do hope they can do it on the day.no reason why not as it would be pointless just having the broncho.

Love nosey Ski's and the smelly one.:) xx

There are still trains, and boats, even if you can't fly any more. All the best.
