Short lung op

I have put my self down for trials for this op where they take away part of lung so basically the rest works better has anybody had this done I am in Uk

Hi Balloo - I assume this is lung volume reduction surgery which is well established here in UK, for copd anyway. So Im interested in why this would be a trial unless you have a different lung condition. Anyway very best of luck with it - I believe it can be very effective.

I do this COPD but have had Tb live Africa & do this co2 retention Hayho if I had 35000 dollars. New pair lungs SA

Mine were checked,but cannot see,like somebody else,what

you can have a trial of.Once done they cannot put it back,and if

you are fortunate to have the COPD in one area then go for it.

Myself it is to spread out to have done.

I had lung volume reduction surgery in Oct 2018 with great success .They took away my top left lobe so the rest could work better due to severe emphysema. Good luck with yours XXX

Hi Babs, It's Good to see your Op had gone well, and still doing well. I am waiting to go back in to re-assess my valves, no longer working, so they lasted for 9 months . I have had both lungs done and in between I had the Valves fitted 5 of them in my left lung they lasted for about 6 months but because of my COPD and the other illness they don’t work for long anyway getting back to the lung operation on my last one I cam out requiring Oxygen ambiglatury 3 ltr s I’m still on it nearly 5 years now .
