I would recommend that you start thinking about how you feel. Better than you did before, the same, or worse? What does it matter what word they would use to describe what you have? 😉 Not everyone would give you the same answer to your question anyway.

Well said Don.

Put 6 gps in the same room with one patient and you would get different opinions. That quoted by my own gp.😂

I think I remember someone posted on here previously that after building up exercise levels and eating healthy etc they got back to mild from moderate.

Yes this can happen easily, stop exercising for a couple of weeks, say because of an infection, and you rapidly lose condition which can take 6-8 weeks to build back up to where you were before. A spirometry test taken at different times of the day can also have different results, also whether you have an empty or full stomach. I would not really take much notice of numbers as Don-1931 has said, it is more to do with how you feel and what you can do that really matters.

Thank you my next spirometry is not due till August bit I have unfortunately not stopped smoking as yet so totally my own fault x

Take good care of yourself llegkt1. I'm having the same kind of problems another lung infection really short of breath and feel I'm drowning in mucus and on another course of antibiotics again.. Had one earlier in the year too. Knocks you back but the positive bit is the encouragement people give you on this site. Dont beat yourself up about the smoking not everyone quits as soon as they have been diagnosed just get some help to stop. Just you keep well. Have a good weekend Mx

Yes, I was diagnosed as top end of moderate in 2015 but moved to lower end of normal at last year's assessment, because of following a lot of the great recommendations on this site and doing a lot of singing (I lead 3 singing groups and sing for at least an hour most days of the week).
