I have the same problem, especially at this time of year when they're competing for mates? I have a robin nesting somewhere very close, and I think he keeps spotting 'rivals' in my wing mirrors? He seems to 'attack' from the car sides, so it's mainly my doors/side windows get it! On one occasion last Spring, I had to get a bowl of soapy water and wash my windows/door handles so I could drive to the car-wash! 😣
I feed the sea birds at work, they can actually recognise me from other people (no matter what I am wearing) greet me vocally, and able to tell when it's feeding time. I have even taught a flock of Terns to catch, with all sorts of acrobatics involved and collisions, almost giving an airshow.
If our bird feeder are empty they stare into our window, makes you feel so guilty, have to run out and fill it up again, there are very well fed birds round here 😄x
That made me smile soulboy and think back to when we had ducks, geese and hens - gosh they were very vocal if we got up late. They were waiting at the back door ready for their breakfast.
Ha ha you made me laugh, I have a medium size conifer off which I hang my feeders, I also have a small bush about a yard away from my front window, when the feeders are getting low and it's not as easy to get the seeds and meal works the sparrows come and sit on the Bush and look in through the window, it's as though they are telling me to fill them up,the only time they use the Bush otherwise is to go inside for insects etc, never do they sit on top only when the feeders are getting low.
8am, There they are All lined up waiting, Pigeons, Wood Pigeons, Wagtails, Robins, Blackbirds Etc... Then the Squirrels come knocking on the Window for their Nuts....Phew, it's a Full time Job, and I love them all. xxxx
