Do you know where he posted? Was it this forum. I think it has to be here for anyone to respond Emily61.

Remember that you can use all that you have learned until someone experienced here can reach out to him.

Best wishes. We will all reach out when we can. It’s one big family here.

Take care and isn’t it great that you are now helping someone else?

That’s BIG steps not baby steps. Well done you😊

in reply toWhitechinchilla

Baby step as don't know what to say

Emily61. The best thing you can do for your friend, is to listen.

Clearly he trusts you, so let him know that he can say anything to you and you won’t judge him.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t have the answers to his ?s

He just needs you to understand that he is in pain.

You have come such a long way in such a short space of time

Now it is your turn to help. That’s pretty amazing. 😊

Do it and do it well.

Hi Bobby. I remember twice seeing someone suffering breathing problems.

On both occasions, I thought to ask if they were alright but they were both trying so hard to look uncomfortable, that it made me feel awkward and look away.

My friend has severe Emphysema and she finds it highly embarrassing to be seen out struggling for breath. She says people look at her and she doesn't like it. xx

in reply tocasper99

I've had loads of people stop to ask if I need help over the past couple of years and I have always appreciated the offer though I've never needed their help. One young woman came to me as I stood by the side of the road waiting for a cab I had booked...she said she had seen me cross the street and I reminded her of her father who had suffered from Copd so she came to ask if I needed help. A couple of times when I've been in the ladies and been gasping for air...as we do lol....other women have looked at me and walked out....but that's rare. 🍷I lift my glass to the kind souls.

I do hope things will be ok. It’s awful to be scared and i’m sure all of us on here have been scared at some point. I know i have. It really helps ‘talking’ on here to people who understand. It’s never any trouble to listen.

Hello Emily61. I am sorry to hear that your friend is so afraid...Fear not says the Lord. God did not give us a spirit of fear. Everyone on here is going trough something and is here for support, tell your friend that and maybe he will feel better to come and join us. Am I my brothers keeper, yes I am. We have each other's best interest at heart!

Hi Em, it’s great that you’re trying to help this person👍 If you don’t know what to say that’s ok, sometimes people need to know they need to go to the doctor and how to talk to one so everyone is clear that’s in the room. Good job steepin up
