Wow what a fantastic response. Brilliant to know others are out here and giving me a big welcome. Many many thanks for you messages. I will add some detail here for all to read. (I am still trying to work out the site so bear with me please)
I came over to Bilbao, in the Basque Country, Northern Spain in 1972. I fell in love with everything. So mountainous, green, spectacular coastline even more better food, meat, fish, seasfood what ever. Paradise. I worked here till 1999 when I returned to UK. Big mistake! I returned to Bilbao in 2010 and will not move! I retired at 63, 6 years ago. I am fully covered by the Spanish Health System, in this Osakidetza which is the Basque part of it but covered all over the country. Exceptional treatment, hospital, docros and nurses. I have severe emphysema and this year was included in a programme called TelEPOC which is TeleCOPD. Every day I use an oximeter which passes the data to a tablet, then I add a series of other bits of info such as number of steps the previos day, whereth fatigue is more or less and the same with cough and phlegm. If all is well I get acall once a week to have a chat. If somethis is not quite right I will get a call in less than an hour and will be asked lots more questions and sometimes even prescribed medication. The objective is to try and keep us out of hospital and catch anything as early as possible. Awesome. The staff for this work 8-3 Mon to Fri and outside those hours there is a number I can call or they will call me 24 hours a day.
Well that is my essay for today.
Take care all of you and try and be good!
