He had a badge with a big red balloon

That he had found in the Captain's room.

What's this he asked in consternation?

"Is it the British Lung Foundation?"

"Yes," he heard his mate intone,

As he handed the lad his mobile phone.

"Ring this number and ask for advice",

The lad didn't need telling twice.

The lady answered with this useful tip,

"First... get off that ****** ship!!"

I wonder what Felicia Hemans would think about that. I think I would be pleased if people were still quoting some of my words nearly 200 years after they were first published, despite some of the language that often follows them. 🙄

No, an engine room fire on board a fuel tanker, scary as can ever be. I had to put the fire out before I could get out as the companionway was ablaze. An injector pipe had broken and was spraying diesel over the exhaust manifold.
