Pneumonia fatigue
I understand your inability to active n unable to have any energy to even get out of bed when I do sleep I can sleep with you three days and when I first was after a year I I couldn't even get off the couch could I have no sense of smell I'm nose blind so it's hard sometimes I push myself just to go to the doctor's appointment and sometimes I just don't care and if you keep trying to find something that interests you do it even if you're at home and you're a you have a backyard go out there and read a drawer you will realize that it's you will be able to get out of bed easier and have a better day I've been in that position for four years where I do sleep I sleep for days otherwise I don't sleep best wishes for a better life
Pneumonia absolutely wipes you out and takes months to recover from. Be kind to yourself, rest as much as you need to, eat food that you like which will build you up and slowly start taking a little exercise every day. Start with a little walk outside and build up. I hope that you will soon be feeling better.
Littlepom is so right. It takes months to recover from pneumonia and you really must heed her advice and rest up, treat yourself as precious, eat as well as you can. Get healthy food delivered if you can afford it, if not reach out to others to give you a hand. My first time I forced myself back to work too soon, and the 2nd, 3rd 4th & 5th time in less than two years. Now I really do have chronic fatigue syndrome, CFS which has ruined life as I knew it. Just sayin! Please do allow yourself to heal, rebuild your immune system with supplements. Get the pneumonia vaccination. P
ps a very warm welcome to the BLF forum. To the right (or scroll down if you're on a smartphone) you'll see 'Related Posts' to have a look at which may help to convince you to pace yourself and take great care.
I agree with littlepom. it took me weeks to start to feel better and able to do anything. But i would still tire easily. It took months to feel right again
Welcome. You have had a rough time of it and must now take great care of yourself and take “ baby steps” in everything you tackle.
At least whilst sleeping your body is healing.
Do you have a practice nurse you can talk to? It can feel very isolating after an episode like that and talking is good therapy.
Good wishes.
3 years ago I suffered respiratory failure due to viral pneumonia and spent 19 days in ICU and it took nearly 2 years to recover enough to say I feel OK but I have regained former strength or energy levels but then I am 72 next birthday on lots of meds for various problems. Be gentle and patient with yourself and it will get better.
Thanks to all of you for replying. Yesterday I pushed myself to keep going all day even though I was tired and wanted to sleep. I should have listened to my body because I ended up so tired I slept through the whole day again today. Its so annoying to know I missed the whole day and very disorienting. I've got so much to do in the house that built up while I had pneumonia but I'm never going to get anything done with this tiredness and sleeping and fatigue
I had bacterial pneumonia in November, 2017. It took a few months to gain my strength back. I feel the IV antibiotics I was given in the hospital contributed to the exacerbation of my kidney disease. It dropped from 59 my first day in the hospital to 40 one week later.
There has to be an answer to my sleeping all the time a month and a half after having pneumonia, when will this end
Hi 51113shadow a month and a half is nothing
