I am very sad to tell you that my husband Albert, Sapper 21, died yesterday. He had a chest infection on top of his COPD which caused pneumonia, and even the excellent care at the hospital couldn't save him. Thankyou all for your friendship. Bridget.

So sorry to read this Bridget, I was a Sapper in the Royal Engineers like Albert, doing my National Service back in the 1950's. Although we never met, all Sappers feel some sort of affinity with one another. It's going to be difficult for you without him so take great care of yourself as he would have wanted..
