Not up to Mr R's standards but it is Boxing Day so hopefully I can get away with it ..... wishing all the very best for the New Year!

I had a drop of Bailey's

which was really rather nice

I thought - be on the safe side

and add a cube of ice!

The room began to wobble

or perhaps that was just me -

then the bathroom beckoned

so I ran to have a w**,

tripped on the stairs

the proverbial 'apples and pears' -

just hope I haven't managed to

dislocate my knee!

Majji

I did enjoy your well penned ditty

but it really is rather a pity

That just one glass of irish mist

can leave you feeling pretty p***ed

but thankfully your knees all right

you really gave us quite a fright

perhaps next time forgo the ice

the drink will still taste very nice.

Thanks you cheered me up with your adventurous tale.

Ski's and Scruff's x

It was actually one third of a very small glass -

I think I was really extraordinarily lucky not

to have fallen on my hopefully still tiny *rse

For Sirski or madamski

whatever the case may be?

skischool in reply to majji

There really is only one of me

so i will settle with Sirski

and if i was as bold as brass

id'e compliment you on your a**e

At least you didn't break that as well. :) x

I agree Mr Don should have spoke up by now but I believe I’m likely the only one awake right now. Jiminy Crickets I think I’ve been awake most of the year! I did nap on and off on the afternoon of Xmas eve after I had everything preped and cleaned knowing all I had to do is toss in somewhere hot an I was done

Is that a warning to us all ... do not put ice cubes in your alcoholic beverages, this will cause you to fall over! I never did trust those dastardly ice cubes 🤨

Sandyeggo profile image
Sandyeggo in reply to HungryHufflepuff

Good one! When I use to indulge I believed ice cubes got in the way of good alcohol and lemon and salt are training wheels by the way

Never mind one glass of Baileys ..

Making you feel a little tipsy..

I had half a lager shandy ..

and began to feel my hips sway..

this makes me realise I shouldn’t drink ..

cause two hours later my head was down the sink!..🤪🤮

Sandyeggo profile image

You people sound as if you drink too many cutesy drinks- sweetie pie alcohol will send you heaving due to all the sugar an I know it happens a lot during holidays when you switch from the regular draft beer you drink daily. Have some tomato juice or some ceviche should get you over so you can start again. Oh Hacienda did you hear me say ceviche?

I trust your head is now back

and joined to your neck Candyred

if not I imagine you will be staying

just a little bit longer tomorrow in bed!

Majii had a large glass of Baileys and ice

She licked her lips and said 'How nice'

Til she wobbled and fell

And let out a yell

'This isn't worth it at any price'! x

Please Sirski no more rhymes galore

my hands are perspiring all over the floor

Thinking up new rhymes is perturbing my brain

and most of what I think up is extremely lame!

skischool profile image
skischool in reply to majji

Ok lass we'll call it a draw

our rhymes we will do no more

we'll leave it all to Master Po

Cos on this site he is the Pro.xx

I would suggest he is the Captain - and you are First Mate -

(perhaps you could finish this one off for me Sirski

for tis now past 8:30 pm

and for me that is late!) x

skischool in reply to majji

He will like being captain and master of the ship

us other ranks would let things slip

and while we are all tucked up in bed

Another rhyme will be maturing in his head. x :)

Hey hypercat do most of all you good people know one another over there? I don’t know the geography well over there at all maybe due I’ve never been. Always been curious do ya run into each other at the store or the Dr office or text each other” who’s turn is it to make tea” and I don’t understand the whole “tea culture” is it a certain tea for specific times? Do you also have it with meals? I guess it’s just the same as coffee in the USA except here not everybody drinks coffee but majority does but most people drink it for affect. If you go to an AA meeting there in Britain does everybody drink tea not coffee?

Hi Hun, No, we only know each other on this fabulous Forum, But, after a long time of communicating , it is the same as "Knowing one another" I always say we are here to help, We are only in the "Next Room" As you will see, we are from all over the Globe, Your name depicts your from The US, Mine could be Spain (lived there). At the end of the day we are all ONE and Cheer each other up when having our Exacerbations or Mental fatigue, or when, like this time Well, & Cheerful. We can all relate to our illness's Together. Love n Hugs Hun, Stay Strong & Happy XXX Besos.

Oh bless you love. No the UK is far too big for most of us to know each other. For those that live in the big cities like London there are a number of others close enough to visit I guess. I don't live near a big city now but used to so if I visit I would love to visit one or two friends there. I have never actually met anyone from Health Unlocked but have made friends whom I will chat to on the phone, email, or pm etc.

Tea is our national drink and people used to have it for elevenses and around 3pm but many didn't or drank coffee instead. It was much more prevalent many years ago but not now really. I don't drink tea only coffee and drink it with meals and any other time I want to.

Americans seem to have some strange ideas about Britain but they are mainly rooted in the distant past. Ok there are still lovely quaint villages with cobblestones but only the well off can afford to live there now with most of us living in normal towns or cities just like you do. We do have lots of ancient ruins and history of course but we don't spend our lives ruminating about the past and instead live in the present. x

I’m sorry you’re unwell, it would be easy to pick up the rhythm of rhymes right there but you’re probably not feelin it. I really hope you snap out of it quick. I hope we’re not blaming your new rehab program although any big new change in your health program can be shocking to the body. Feel better right away Midge said!

in reply to Sandyeggo

I'm fine thanks, just a bit of a mix-up over my meds which is sorted now. When you live on your own and have to take so many inhalers, tablets, eye drops, creams, ointments and mucus shifting procedures, it's easy to get something wrong and set off a chain reaction. I don't start my PR course until the 17th Jan. Midge needs her meds meals and walks whether I feel like doing it or not but we manage.

Hi Don, Sorry your not on Par at the moment. These dam Meds, Like "Marmite" you love or hate it, But without them we wouldn't be here. Come on Dear Friend get your Poems Going so we can all respond. Take Care Don. Love n Hugs xxxxx

Yup I sure know that one-my dogs are bigger than me and if they need something they are strong enough to get my butt outta bed whether or not I comply so I fully understand her needs and our commitment as their humans. If you’re getting confused on meds may I recommend following a written schedule/writing it all down- what you take ,when you take it I find helps ME with my sometimes forgetfulness. Do take care
