Aerosure Medic.

I've been using this 10 months now and it has helped my COPD.Unfortunately I've now got blisters inside my bottom lip so I've had to stop using it.I'm assuming it's the Aerosure that's caused it.Has anyone else had this?

I get blisters everywhere in my mouth which I believe are more to do with my inhaled drugs and nebulised antibiotics. If something like that is causing soreness, having your lips around the aerosure probably isn’t helping. These things are always a mystery. I hope that you get to the bottom of it.

Thanks for the reply.

I do hope you realise that you're suppose to put it in your mouth! 😮

Thanks for the reply. The mouthpiece is inside my lips and with the vibration from it,I think that could be causing the blisters.

Hi

What are using to clean mouthpiece and head after each use,

I swill round in a mild fairy liquid solution then good long rinse under hot water tap, then allow to air dry. Had no problems with blisters

Alcohol based cleaners can impregnate the soft plastic mouthpiece, may cause irritation.

Thanks for the reply.I've been using Milton to soak the mouthpiece and the head.I always rinse them under the cold water tap after I've steeped them.

OH has been using Aerosure for a long time with no problems. I wash the mouthpiece and head then sterilize them in a baby bottle sterilizer. Perhaps the Milton has degraded the plastic. Perhaps you should try a new mouthpiece. Also, is your mouth dry? If so, drink more water, particularly before using the device. You could also consider seeing your dentist about your oral health.

Thanks for the reply.I fitted a new mouthpiece a couple of weeks ago.Had my dental check up at the end of last month. My mouth isn't particularly dry.Once the blisters have cleared up,I will try drinking water just before using it.Thanks for the idea.

It seems that you could be sensitive to something in the plastic. Try to avoid using the Milton and see if that makes any difference.

Thanks for the reply.I'm not using the Aerosure Medic until my mouth has cleared up.
