Hi has anyone been on this drug if so can you tell me if it helped with your symptoms and any side effects please. Thanks

Earlier this year I was told only that this drug MAY be used in the future if my symptoms worsened (I think mainly the mucous/phlegm etc). Didn't need it as my condition did improve soon after. Good luck with it. Please report back how you get in with it Carol x

Thanks for replying, I suffer so much from massive amounts of mucus and this drug has been mentioned to me so I’m praying they give it me and it lessens the damn stuff, thanks again hope you continue to improve x

Just keep insisting you need it Carol (can see no reason they won't give it to you unless there are any contra-indications to any of your other meds or conflict with any other medical condition you may have). I assume you're already on carbocisteine, or similar, to help thin the mucus so that you can get rid of it.

You may have read previous posts of mine about this problem - I take Chinese herbs, which have helped me greatly; I am lucky enough to have a Chinese Herbalist near me, who has been practising for over 20 years and he tailored the herbs to my needs in regard to mucus.

Hi, thanks for your help , would I be able to buy the chinese herbs on line il try anything to stop my body making all this mucus it so hard every day trying to expel it, I think the roflumilast there is a but I think because I have lung cancer ? Xx

I'm so sorry to hear about the cancer. I sincerely hope you don't have it. Has it been diagnosed? I had the lower lobe of my left lung removed in 2008 due to cancer. I am lucky because when they found it the tumour was still very small and had not spread.

Re the herbs, my Chinese herbalist is in the South East - he would not supply any herbs without seeing you. Check on line to see if there is one in your area (ask about his credentials etc.). A reputable Chinese herbalist would not supply any herbs without seeing you. It took a few weeks of 'tweaking' before mine got the optimum mix of herbs for the mucus/phlegm. I have been able to halve the original dose, and now only need go once a fortnight and use the herbs only once a day as a 'maintenance' dose. I wish I could be of more help Carol.

Thanks Dedalus, yes the cancers are small but I can’t have any treatment or ops as I am not fit enough at present due to the copd and mucus saga, thanks for your help and I will try and find a chinese herbalist xx take care

Did you see Bikergrove's post yesterday re mucus? He recommends Native Remedies Mucus-clear, which you can find on Amazon (its homeopathic). He's found it very helpful, so maybe worth a try Carol. May get some myself. If you try it please let me know If it helps at all xx
