I have just lost my daily living award on my renual .

Lost 2 points for toilet needs

Nothing has changed about me over the last 2 years.

I still have problems breathing.

This is just someone's opinion which is clearly different from the last persons.

Soo annoying that your life hangs in the opinion of someone you have never met .

I think the same person that granted you pip in the first instance should review your newebsite assessment

Good point. Good luck with your appeal

It is annoying and it's not fair which makes me sound like a 5 year old, but it is unjust. If you have any physical ability it's like, well there you go then, you're fine. And it's a box ticking exercise which means you have to fall into whichever category and it assumes everyone in a said situation is the same. Oh you can walk 20 metres? Well that's fine, you can run down the road and catch a bus.

I am really sorry to know you lost your daily living award. Is this a decision you can appeal against? All best wishes to you.

I had paramedic do mine swipe half my surport away .. it’s sad really he was more intrested in he’s shiny new Audi company sports car than listening to my issues.

Hi wooo so sorry to hear this. We have a choice, we can manage on what they give us or we can fight and challenge their decision. I would fight, we live in a world where they want to cut corners. A person who has little or no knowledge of your illness. If you need any help or support please don't hesitate to contact me.

As hard as it is to get benefits and retain them I would still ask for a reveiw & appeal against the new decision. Have to smile although it is not funny when you are going through it. I heard someone use the word malingerer the other day many of us don't appear on the surface as disabled but there are not many assessors who are medically conversant with the disabilities that occur from some illnesses or how they flucuate from day to day.

It's only breathing, right? Who needs to do that anyway 😒 Today I heard that older people are a drain on the economy. Malingerers, bed blockers and now a financial drain. This disrespect of elders and people with a medical condition is very bad for society. Instead of taking care of those who need support, society is using them as a scapegoat and blaming all the problems on them. It's a dangerous path to go down.

Perhaps we should say this is a hate crime and maybe they will leave the elderly alone, if the elderly hadnt paid into they system they wouldnt have an nhs.

I bet all us old people have put 50 years on to working paying our taxes and NI payments.

Why should we get anything back now

LOL

As if we don’t pay tax! Make me so cross! Peter always says I should sue the NHS for keeping me alive and costing them so much. If they hadn’t been so efficient in 1961 I certainly wouldn’t be here now.

Appeal! Call British Lung Foundation/go to citizen's advice/age uk, whichever is easiest for you. They are all good at helping with claiming the benefits you need.

I'm waiting for the results of my PIP claim. I was awarded it 2 years ago and got a renewal form in Late September.

Good luck xx

Hi wooo. I have been there. I have multiple illnesses, asthma, bronchiectasis, epilepsy to name a few. I too was turned down, not I'll enough!! This has happened twice now, plus I made up my bronchiectasis, never been diagnosed, despite having it for 18 years!!. I appeal in a mandatory reconciliation, that still went against me and I went to tribunal...it was a long stressful process but I was awarded my PIP with backpayed.yiu are so right, people that don't know you make decisions....please pursue it.. good luck

Have you asked yet for a mandatory reconsideration? Please do so if you have not. These people at times disgust me.

Call BLF. They will know the best route for you to challenge this, because challenge it you must. Hope you get it resolved quickly. It’s totally un acceptable. Good wishes

Wow is it my imagination or are they refusing most people’s first application to see if they appeal? You must reapply and get advise beforehand re the red tape/ form filling.

I am with you all the way. I think they refuse most people. And I do believe they are on bonuses

I am sure I heard on the morning radio show that around 85% of people who have lost, but then go to the appeal stage/tribunal stage are successful. Makes you wonder why not make the correct decisions in the first place.....saving a hell of a load of money as well ?
