This shows great promise in human trials. Theoretically it could mean a new way to treat resistant bacteria.

That is certainly much needed. I was reading somewhere (I can’t remember where) about more bacteria becoming resistant to antibiotics and even minor surgery could become risky. All these new medications in trials, I hope they come to something 🤞

From what I have been reading over the years the main problem with development of new antibiotics is toxicity. Yes they can kill the bacteria but there are problem with toxicity when used in humans. However this development allows the antibiotic to sneak in the cellular back door so to speak. Therefore the antibiotic can do its job without increasing toxicity. A very clever idea which shows great promise.

It could be a life saver for many, there was mention of this in 2016 and earlier this year from a US source on science and health: acsh.org/news/2018/05/12/do...

Here to looking forward to health solutions
