Morning everyone -
Has anyone had terrible headaches using fostair. I mean feeling sick style headaches. Just wondering if it’s safe to continue with it.
Thank you in advance to anyone who replies
Best wishes to all 😊

If this is ongoing you should probably have a word with your GP Hellodolly. If you've only recently started it, sometimes things settle down as your body adapts to the new medication. Hope you get something sorted.
I agree, I use Fostair and when first prescribed I was told that it takes a month to settle down. If there is no improvement then see your GP. Medicine allergies are a bit of a lottery because we are not all the same.
Check the information leaflet that comes with the medicine it usually gives guidelines what's norm when to approach your doc. If it doesn't indicate anything like that, as 02Trees suggests check in with your doctor, If you are getting headache 24/7 definitely speak with doc any way.
Feeling sick headaches suggest migraine in my own personal past experience.
Thank you. I don’t usually get headaches ( thank God), so I think it must be the meds.
The same happened to me, Dolly, when my Seretide 250 was changed to Sereflo.....headaches getting worse every day. I ended up with a migraine, and awful light sensitivity.....took just four days. So took no more. Rang asthma nurse, who changed the prescription back immediately.....no further problems.
I was told these were absolutely identical drugs, and seemed that way when I checked on Internet....but not for me for some reason.
Check with your GP/asthma nurse.
I was on Fostair for 3years and kept getting headaches and sinus throat trouble Im now on Trimbo and it has got worse I think it is caused by the inhalers ?has I never had this before I was put on maintainance inhalers x
That’s too bad, I’ve only heard good things about Trimbow until now. I hope you find something that doesn’t have such bad side effects.
I was on Fostair for about 6 months and had really bad side effects from it, plus it made my breathing infinitely worse, but I too had really bad headaches. I get bad headaches anyway but the Fostair made things worse, sometimes I felt like my head was going to implode or my eyes pop out, sorry if that sounds gross, but it really felt that bad. All the problems went away almost immediately after I stopped using Fostair which suggests to me it was all caused by the fostair. But, I know it works great for some people. We are all different, and medications affect us all differently, both positively and negatively. I hope you can feel better soon.
Have you seen your GP to eliminate another, co-incidental reason for the headaches? I'm getting a lot of sinus headache at present, something weird going on, I'm putting it down to the warmer weather.
As Bkin says, do read the leaflet (if you haven't already)! Good luck
It does say in the leaflets that it can cause sinus trouble also Trimbo can x
Hello Hellodolly. I wished I'd seen your query a long time ago. I have horrendous headaches from this blasted fostair. It gi es me headaches about every 6 to 9 days. They last about 24 to 30 hours on average. They rise slowly, over about 8 hours, then plateau for about 9 to 12 hours, then drop off gradually. I'm a self employed taxi driver and I'm losing, pedantically, precisely 9 days work per 11 week. The missed day/shift is on average about £120 net. That amounts to a whopping 6k per year. I really have had enough of it. My gp says she absolutely will not change it. I used to be on seretide, which gave me no problems at all and worked about as well as seretide. The gp has even told the nonsense, in order to go be off, that seretide is no longer prescribed for copd!!!!!!!!! I feel as though I have become an economic slave to chiesti farmaceuiti in parma, Italy. Hiq can they possibly have such an absolute grip on UK gp's? I really don't know how they can achieve this. Their UK hq is in Cheadle, Manchester. The net says their earnings have literally shot up. I have to get off this damn stuff!!! I hope you achieved it, I really do. If so, how did you a age to wsxaoe cbiesi's grip. Please let me know. It also gives terrible muscular soreness and serious weight gain. Ive never had to diet in my life, but now I do. Damn you, chiesi. I demand freedom from your slavery.
Hi there
It is a year since I posted that, and indeed I left the dreaded fostair behind me. It just made me feel awful so much of the time. I went back to ventolin and didn’t seem to meet any opposition. I also bought an acapella and had some sessions with a pulmonary physio and doing that helped more than anything. It moves the phlegm.
If it ain’t working, walk away! Ask for a second opinion.
Good luck and let me know how you get on.😊😊
