Daddy, aged 39, to son aged 4: Daddy is old!
Son: Daddy’s not old
Daddy: Is Grandpa old then?
Son: Grandpa’s not old
Daddy: What about Grandma?
Son: Oh yes, Grandma’s old
Do I still adore my grandson. Hmmmmmm!

Of course you do ! he's thinking of all the wisdom you have, and knows that comes with age ! XXX
No pretence or artifice. Aren’t they just brilliant?
Oh dear! My grandson tells me I’m old too. Kids are great aren’t they. Xxx 👍😂😘
We can only expect truth from toddlers! Driving with 3 year old grandson & family to the park, my daughter-in-law and I were squashed into the back seat next to grandson's car seat, with d-i-l nobly taking the narrower middle seat. As we climbed in for the return journey, grandson announced he wanted nanny to sit next to him. I was flattered but it would have been difficult with oxygen so his mum said 'no, nanny needs to sit by the window.'
'Oh yes,' said grandson, 'nanny's bottom is too big to fit in the middle seat!'
Cue much merriment from husband and son...
Four years ago, granddaughters then aged 4 and 3, were sitting staring at me. When I asked them why the 4 yo answered, the 3 yo nodded sagely in agreement.
"You're very old so you're going to die soon"
I was on holiday a few years with a friend in a tropical country where they revere older people. We were both in our early 60's however I am short, round and use a walking stick, whereas she is tall, slender and youthful (she came as my carer). I was in a pearl shop (not buying, the good necklaces would have bought a car or two). My friend wandered past, and the lass behind the counter said "isn't your daughter lovely"!!! A few days later I could not quite make it to the counter stall that did the best banana smoothie I have ever had- just 2 bananas and a scoop of vanilla ice cream- so I sat and friend went to get our mid-morning snack, came back giggling had been asked if "granny was OK today" The whole time I was treated with the utmost respect, but oh did I feel old when I left. I could believe I did not have long left!!!
My 8 year nephew prodded my belly the other day&declared in frontof our whole family&extended family...'it's a little bit medium Aunty D. ' hahaha
