We have always been lucky with our GP. And the staff at the surgery. The receptionist always goes out of her way to make sure we get an appointment with our GP. And if it wasn't for our GP I would have carried on struggling with my breathing he sent me straight to hospital. Band when I came out 10 days later he came out to see me to check I was ok and doing as I was told. I worked and wanted me to give up I refused at first but I had to admit defeat when I was rushed into hospital. So thank you to my GP and staff at my surgery.

yes i have the same respect for our surgery and my own doctor
My Health Centre was graded as Outstanding in 2016....the staff are efficient and helpful.
Your GP sounds outstanding too.
That’s really good to hear lizzric and hope things improve for you. Xxxx
That's lovely to hear, have to admit my surgery normally respond well in crisis situations. However the routine run of the mill chronic management often requires early booking to see a said GP. I see any GP but that makes no difference to queue for appointments it depends on urgency of matter. As for the new speedy electronic prescriptions its very rare I get mine with out computer hiccup, and now you can't have more than one a month for painkillers I am informed. However I can get a prompt telephone response which not all surgeries can do, not enough staff
Yes I wish to echo all that you have said regarding our local GP surgery. My own Doctor rang the hospital to ask after my health when I was in ICU in an induced coma for 19 days Nurses thought it unusual as he was not relate to me!
You sound as though you have a great, caring doctor! It's good to hear they are still about. Mine is very good but haven't needed to call him out so don't know what the response will be like. The last time I called out a doctor he didn't arrive and I ended up needing an ambulance, but he's retired now. Lucky you. xx Moy
You are very lucky my surgery is well over populated and unless you stand in a queue from 8am in all weathers outside waiting for opening time and hoping there is a slot for you, it’s impossible to get an appointment. You never see the same GP twice and the usual pulmonary nurse knows and cares so little about COPD !
Luckily for me I work in a hospital and can ask certain things from colleagues if I get worried. I did however have to demand my GP refer me to a pulmonary physician after coughing up some blood in jan ( he wasn’t going to and I was prepared to pay at the hospital I work at). Good job as it led to a ct scan and diagnosis. I had to wait 3 weeks for a telephone conversation after a letter from GP saying she needed to speak to me re my blood results! No wonder nhs a&e is busy in this area! Rant over ......and relax😏
That's great and i am so pleased you have such a great surgery. Mine has got worse in the past year as you used to normally be able to see a doctor the same day, now it's more often a few days waiting, which I know is still better than many areas.
They still have a telephone system but I have got through more than once only to be told all the appointments have gone. They said if I got there at 8 am I would be more successful. If I was fit enough to be up and there by 8 then I probably wouldn't need to see a doctor! If I have been told to see the same doctor by the doctor I make sure they have put something on my records otherwise it's impossible. x
Glad you have good GP and surgery!
We have 2 GPs left and they are part time. The rest of the time we are seen by nursing staff and in the last couple of weeks there have been two mis-diagnosis cases! No spaces left in other surgeries in the area so can't transfer! Quite scary!

Hi, I think you are a very lucky person, whilst my GP is a good guy the practice has far too many patients due to other practices closing around it. It now takes some 2/3 weeks to get to see my own GP but it's not really his fault. Unfortunately he is retiring at the end of the month so I'm wondering what is going to happen.

My husband is really well taken care of by all the GP’s in his practice but not sure for how much longer after he told the Dr that was worried about his BP that he only got high BP readings when he saw her 🤦🏻♀️
Your very lucky to have good Doctors
