It was the lower end of the range, you can pay many thousand for them but I wanted a good one to try and get some pleasure back into my writing after years on the keyboard. The point is it got me interested in fountain pens in general. Many were free from friends who cleared out their desks on retirement, I've proably thrown away more over the years myself than I shall ever collect now, but the many different types that were/are available has suddenly taken my interest.
I love writing with a fountain pen ,it helps me try to write more neatly .Istill have my dad’s old Conway Stewart with a gold nib ,just sentimental value . My daughters recently bought me a lovely fountain pen made from bamboo.😊
Saw a Montblanc pen go for 13k on Flog It once..is yoursthe same Don 😊

I'd be more likely to be the bloke that sold one like it for a fiver!
I used to love writing with a fountain pen. When I was at school we actually used quills, with replaceable nibs, and each desk had its own inkwell. Just in case anyone’s wondering, I’m in my early 40s 🤣 Just realised that sounds like something from Dickens. Then in high school we progressed to ink pens with ink cartridges, you could get scented ones and all kinds of colours, my favourite was violet. Somehow writing with a lovely pen makes you write neater. Now I just scribble with a biro.
Very good Don. I have always taken pride in my handwriting, although I do not write as often as I used to. I did the union job at one place where I worked (quite a few years ago now) and I always wrote the minutes of our meetings in long hand for the members to read, I think it just adds that personal touch, the fact that you took the time to write it. I enjoyed doing it to. I am 75 years old now but I have never used quill. I used a pen with a nib and we had ink wells sunk in the desk. Good luck and best wishes. 👍🤓🖋🖊
Well done!!!!This pen of yours --- reminds of the time when letter writing was the norm and the joy of receiving a letter from a loved one was a real pleasure. Keep it up-- we need you.
We had pen and ink when I started school and had to write in italics which was measured with a ruler, it took almost a morning to write a page, I hated it at the time but strangely love it now. I write notelets to my grandson and he loves getting them x
Lovely Don. Only Yesterday after having problems with my Computer, My Hubby said go back to "Writing Letters" to the Grandchildren instead of electronically. I am going to look for a Nice Pen, to do just that. Thanks Don. xxxxx
I love writing and receiving letters, but hardly anyone writes anymore. Pretty much all my friends and family communicate by email or text or message or whatever. There was a real joy in finding a letter or card and sitting there reading it, or choosing some nice paper or cards to write on. And a nice pen with which to write, of course 🖋
Hi Huff, Yes I agree, I do however Write and send Beautiful Birthday Cards to My Family in Spain, The Post is expensive though. When I sent a Birthday parcel, it cost more than the items. I shall write individual Letters and put them all in One Envelope, not the same, but I will do that. xxxx
It's true, postage is so expensive now. That's probably contributed to the demise of the handwritten letter. This conversation has inspired me to sit and write a card to a friend which I'm doing right now 👍
