Does anyone have farmers lung and what treatment do you have.
Hi there, it's really important to have your aspergillis controlled to manage the fungus. I would go back to your specialist to ask why the medication was stopped. I'm hoping they did tests to check that the aspergillis had minimised & that's the reason.
There are a few members with experience of it who may be along to advise, if not do call the BLF help line on Tuesday for expert guidance. They're there Mon-Fri 9-5. Until then, write aspergillosis in the search bar for historic posts with their useful replies. P
" Hello to you MazRoss..
I have farmers lung diease..some Drs also call it cagebird lung diease.. Asthma... I take Spiriva..Symbicort..30 mg of steriods daily..Ventoline...and a multitude of vitamins prescribed by my Matron and GP...Megan.. "
Hi MazRoss, Sad to hear your troubles. This is not a lung disease I suffer from (got enough of my own thanks) but I read peege's comment and have reason to agree. I had leukaemia 15 years ago and have been on long term penicillin ever since against the risk of mold spores or other fungal infections! So I would very much want to know why the meds were stopped and probably ask for them to be re-prescribed until you have proof the mould is gone.
Incidentally I notice quite a few sites refer to allergy in connection with these spores - I am no expert but I do not think anyone is NOT sensitive to this risk, never mind any allergic reaction.
I note a symptom is depression - I guess that is true for all these nasty chronic lung diseases so do try for a positive attitude; I know it has helped me enormously.
