The Teapot. (or Take Charge of Your Life.)

β€’25 Replies

There are some things I do each day

Which make me wonder why.

But I'm sure that I'll keep doing them

Until the day I die.

The first thing that I do each day

Is make a mug of tea.

The only time I use a teapot .

Now why should that so be?

It's tea that keeps me going,

As with you it might.

Unfortunately in my case,

Also going through the night.

The thing is that my brain box

Says that's a waste of time.

But my heart says no it isn't

And that decision's mine!

The teapot is a symbol

That you should not ignore.

When a leader is decided

In choosing who should pour.

Love it Don...tea is so important in our lives too...it starts a new day, heals all ills, promotes conversation and bonding and is a symbol of maturity...when my little ones start to make me tea I know they're all grown up!😊😒

A cuppa shouldn't be underestimated!

Now I must put the kettle on...πŸ˜ŠπŸ΅πŸ‘ xx

I wonder if people still use the expression β€œshall I be mother β€œ when deciding who is going to pour the tea 😊

I'm a coffee person. My big habit is every time I do the washing up.. I make coffee as soon as it's done. Doesn't feel right if I don't lol

One of life’s little pleasures. 😎 Of course, drinking from the saucer would made it difficult. πŸ™„

Great poem and awesome mug, where did you get it? I’m a coffee or herbal tea person myself but it’s important to have our little rituals, whether that’s getting the teapot out or coffee machine going. Enjoy your cuppa πŸ‘

I bought the mug from here shop.blf.org.uk

Thanks Don. I don’t see the mug there though 😒 But there’s a very cosy looking fleece, I might have to get me one for the winter πŸ‘

They might have stopped doing the the mugs. They were cheap and a very poor quality compared with the other goods. I bought the shopping bag and a polo shirt as well which are very good.

Too bad about the mugs. β˜• I'll definitely have to look at the clothing though. And maybe a shopping bag. I can never have too many shopping bags! Thanks for the tip πŸ‘

You're more than welcome as things have been rather on the "low side" for a while, so I always look for your whitty rhymes. They have the knack of cheering me up.....so please keep 'em coming!!

Another good one Don, I cant get going until I have a cuppa, the best I must admit is made in a teapot and a china cup, I am usually too impatient for my morning brew so sadly its a teabag in a mug. X

Dunking hobnobs allowed? Mr Rhymer have you heard if 2 people pour from the same brew 1 will have ginger twins?

β€’ in reply toScouseTaffy

I haven't experimented with Hobnobs, but you need a firm biscuit for a successful dunk or else you lose the soggy bit within the depths. Two people pouring from the same brew is most unwise anyway and could result in fisticoughs.
