Analogue and digital
They are all around the house.
Some make ticks quite loudly,
Others quiet as a mouse.
They all have one same function,
They're there to tell the time.
But one there has no battery,
And is wound up, rain or shine.
Why go to all that bother,
I'm sure I hear you say.
There's plenty more around you
To tell the time of day.
But that one's rather special,
Because when I look at that
It reminds me of who I am,
And also where I'm at.
That I should be a gentleman
And always to walk tall.
Cos that's my old Dad's Hunter Watch.
Granddaddy of them all.
