Hello Southp, mucus is also my big problem. I try to drink as much as I can, when someone is around I sometimes ask to pat my back for a while , it depends on where the mucus is but seems help sometimes, I take med like carbicidteine and also use neblizer a few times a day. I do breathing excercise to get rid of mucus too and I can’t walk much but doing some stretch on bed also seems like helping . But it really depends on the day. Hope you find some good way to get mucus out and feel better .

Ask your GP for an Acapella device and they should prescribe one for you. I get on better with mine since I wasn’t very good at the Active Cycle of Breathing which the physio taught me. Everyone is different though, but it is important to clear your lungs of mucus as much as possible.

Hope the reply from ja Midlands explained what a flutter device is.

Your GP should prescribe one as it has helped me a lot with mucus extraction.

I think that an Acapella is help you. It is important to clear your lungs of mucus as much as possible.

An acapella device is a small, hand held, plastic contraption which you breathe into against a slight resistance. The air vibrates and somehow that helps the mucus to come up. Then you do a bit of huffing and coughing to get the mucus out. Takes a bit of getting used to but it works for me and my bronchiectasis.
