chest tightness and breathing difficulty - exploring to find cause if anyone experienced same symptoms

On a daily basis I feel mild chest tightness in left part of my chest only, but on some days, I feel I am having very hard time breathing, and then I have to take bronco dilator inhaler. I feel heaviness only in left part of my chest, right part I feel completely normal. When I take Albuerol It gives me relief, but still I don't feel completely normal, as I used to feel before Feb 26 2018. I also experience mild acid re-flux and mild heart burn in left portion of chest (not often though, and it goes and comes back). Not sure, but sometimes I feel office air conditioning could be one of the triggers for chest tightness, but again it happens only after lunch (around 2 pm). So I am totally confused weather it is Asthma/COPD, or GERD related/acid reflux, LPR or Hernia. I smoked for 20 years, and now have quit since last 4 months

My lung x-ray is clear. Peak flow is around 400 when I feel tightness. I do not cough, no phlegm, no wheezing. sometimes I feel heart burn and throat harshness. They have found moderate growth of bacteria, staph aureus, in my sputum, but my doctors says nothing to worry since I don't have any symptoms like fever.

I tried QVAR 80mcg/two times day for 2-3 weeks, but no major improvement. Only thing gives me relief is Albuetrol inhaler.

I always have a feeling that my left lung is being pressed in. My GP checked it and said it is just costochondritis - inflammation of the little muscles holding the rib cage together. A key symptom is that it sometimes gets worse when I breathe in very deeply. Is what you're experiencing anything like that?
