How very sad Aimeehic, and I hope someone will reply soon who has more understanding.
Please phone the BLF helpline tomorrow on 03000 555 030 during office hours for help and advice.
Take care xxxxx
That is very sad Aimeehic and Sassy has given you some very good advice. Perhaps you could tell us a bit more about your Dad, like his age, any other ailments he might have and how he feels himself about his present situation?
Hello Aimeehic .
I really do sympathize. I think Hidden made a good point , it would be good to know a bit more about your dad's circumstances. It is so very hard to watch a loved one struggle. Heart breaking to be sure. What do the doctors say?
Hoping to hear more from you soon.

If your Dads SATS are 50 you should call an ambulance, or at the very least dial 111.
I hope he is going to be OK, but you do need someone to look at him
Good luck
I am with Sohara, Also anything like this happening it is the emergency or 111 service, 2ndly even if you did not do that his doctor should be contacted and request visits by the community respiratory team to monitor his oxygen levels more closely.
Thirdly the BLF helpline for further guidance.
I am so sorry for your struggle. We are all here to support you cyberly( if that’s a word). My advise is to stay close w/his doctor and just love your pops and be patient w/him while he’s ill. All the best to you
O2 sats in the 50's are dangerously low. Normal is in the 90's, low 80's would probably be pretty difficult breathing. I would call and work very carefully with his care providers to try and prevent this from happening again. Perhaps they need to adjust the amount of oxygen he receives, or maybe needs different care options. I've been down this road with my mom-- and sadly it is not a pretty one-- it is heartbreaking. I really wish both of you luck and strength.
All good advice above, nothing to add. Just want to wish you and your Dad all the very best. Karen
Thank you all for your very kind words... my dad has suffered for a while now but has got progressively worse since he had a biopsy and camera back in January.... he is now only around 7 and half stone and when I was with him the other day walking in the hospital he had to stop every 20 seconds and I could the pain he was in as if the struggling to breath was affecting his other organs I know he has chest pains too .... my dad has a massive cavity in one of his lungs but both lungs are terrible the consultant said they can't do a transplant as he wouldn't survive the op ... my dad was a painter and decorator so more then likely used lead based paints so whether that has played a part is more then possible... he is using 1 and half gas bottles A day now....
