Two Swallows a summer doeth make

Lovely walk yesterday. From Llanfairfechan towards Bangor you follow the North Wales Coastal path, passing several nature reserves. First up was a Skylark its song filled the air. Second, having just arrived and looking somewhat shocked a pair of swallows preening themselves on a telephone wire. No doubt bemused after having left the sunshine of Africa for the mist and drizzle of N Wales. Maybe they no something we dont as today its sunny.

Done that walk many times. Almost makes me home sick thinking about it.

I have climbed up Cader Idris and half way up Snowdon, but that was a long time ago, I couldn't do it now.

I was thinking about your gentle moving exercises the other day when there was a post and thread about Tai Chi.

I haven't seen any swallows yet , but Spring has sprung for sure.

Hi knitter. Thanks for responding. I read a piece about clinical trials Tai Chi v standard pulmonary exercises. Tai Chi was equally as good.Keep doing the gentle Tai Chi breathing exercises. Go back through my posts if you've forgotten. Best wishes.

According to this study, in the longer term Tai Chi was actually better.

Conclusions

Tai Chi is equivalent to PR for improving SGRQ in COPD. Twelve weeks after exercise cessation, a clinically significant difference in SGRQ emerged favoring Tai Chi. Tai Chi is an appropriate substitute for PR.

Thanks. The Tai Chi breathing exercises, simple and gentle ( I did post last year on how to do them). Along with stretching the torso by raising arms one above the head the other pressing down. Good, according to Chinese medicine, as it opens the heart and lung channels that run down the arms. Best wishes.

Thanks. But nice and flat. I have one 3k left to do. Hope I can get and stay fit enough to do it this year. I'll keep you posted.

Many years ago I too walked a lot in North/mid Wales. I used to camp on Mochras, then later at Llandanwg. I walked up Snowdon and Cader Idris.

Later I did a lot of walking in the Brecons and around the Gower. I have family in Castell Nedd and Llangollen. Sadly my walking is very limited now.

However I still get out into the open when I can. To me there is nothing more uplifting than birdsong, the humming of bees or watching water and all the life in, on and around it.

Your post about your walk gave me a great feeling.

Thank you for sharing

Bless. Thank you. The post wasn't what you would call good prose. But hope it is a bellwether of better days ahead. I live in Conwy so walk in the hills and coastal paths when I can.
